vulnerability

It is hard to do a new thing.  What if I fail?  What if they don’t like it?  What if …

The only thing of which we can be sure is that everything will change.  Is changing.  That’s a good thing when life gets hard.  But it is hard when the things we like or love change.

Showing up and being willing to risk failure is essential to living an authentic and creative life.  But it’s not for the faint of heart.  Kindness, honesty, authenticity.  It will get you in trouble every time.  We can armor-up with “mean” or “silent” – but neither are very convincing for very long.

When we are vulnerable, amazing things happen.  It takes courage but the results can be stunning.  Hold your ground.  Ignore the nay-sayers and the envious.  Steam on ahead.  Make something new happen!

“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it’s having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not weakness; it’s our greatest measure of courage.”
― Brené Brown, Rising Strong
